Hello! I'm Sherida. My enthusiasm for photography goes back some 15 years. This innate passion I have for organic connections and candid imagery, coupled with a love for all things birth, stirs my soul and awakens my spirit. My manner of operation is CONNECTION OVER PERFECTION. It's the sauce that allows me to create more than just a pretty picture, but emote feelings that link families back to the priceless moments they cherish. In 2016 while pursuing a career in the medical field and studying to ultimately become a labor and delivery nurse, my heart was led to document the beauty and strength of women in the sacred birth space. Once I discovered that I could somewhat have the best of both worlds professionally, that confirmed for me that birth photography was my calling. This is my dream job and I'm in my entire element while documenting the transformation of families. While it's my intent to capture all birthing women, it's also my assignment to share images of women of color while birthing and breastfeeding with the objective that despite tradition, lack of family support, or any other discouraging markers out there, home birth and breastfeeding can be successfully achieved. As a WOC and a mom, these diverse images will positively impact future generations of WOC to see women looking just like them taking charge of their right to choose what's best for them and their baby.
